Visit of the President of RSPP A.N. Shokhina in Technopolis
President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs A.N. Shokhin suggested holding a visiting session of the Council of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in September 2012 on the territory of the unique private Technopolis of the General Satellite Corporation, dedicated to the investment potential of the Kaliningrad region.
President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs - approx.) Alexander Shokhin, accompanied by the Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Nikolai Tsukanov, visited the only private microelectronics manufacturing technology operating in 2008 in Gusev. The project’s investor, the leading Russian developer and manufacturer of receiving equipment, General Satellite Corporation, plans to invest 25 billion rubles in the project by 2015.
The comprehensive project includes 5 high-tech enterprises, which form the largest cluster for the production of electronics in Eastern Europe. During the tour, members of the delegation visited the high-tech production of a full cycle of digital receivers of JSC “NPO TsTS”, where they demonstrated new models of on-air digital television set-top boxes intended for the implementation of the program “Development of broadcasting in the Russian Federation for 2009-2015”.
The head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs was presented with new unique production using nanotechnology - the existing company Prancor LLC and which is at the construction completion stage of GS NANOTECH.
At the Prancor LLC, which has been operating since 2009 as part of Technopolis, in 2012 the Center for the Production of Carbon Nanostructured Material (CNM), also known as nanotubes, will be opened. The fields of its application are very diverse: from paint and varnish and galvanic coatings to additives in various construction materials.
The delegation’s members were particularly interested in the most advanced in Russia Center for the Development, Research and Production of Microelectronics GS NANOTECH, the opening of which is scheduled for September 2012. The fifth Technopolis plant will include the assembly and testing of multi-chip microprocessors with a manufacturing topology of up to 45 nm in PBGA and PQFN cases. The best Russian and European specialists were involved in the work at the new enterprise.
“In my opinion, the General Satellite Corporation’s Technopolis project is a model through which the Kaliningrad region can be one of the technological leaders in the Russian Federation. A successful model of cluster development can be replicated throughout the whole country, ”A.N. shared his impressions of what he saw. Shokhin.
The President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs was supported by the Governor of the Kaliningrad Region N.N. Tsukanov: “In my opinion, the manufacturing complex created by General Satellite Corporation and the volume of output demonstrate the competitive advantages of Technopolis over electronic equipment manufacturers from Southeast Asia, both in terms of product prices and the technologies used.”
